Dominican-Hatians are Dominicans too!

We must stand together to denounce the Dominican ruling of deporting Dominicans because of the skin color and certain features, which are said to be “Haitian” features. We must stand together and denounce this anti- Black sentiment that produces nothing but hate, a self-hate and and hate for others.

Stand with us tomorrow at 4pm at the Dominican consulate to put some international pressure on this madness. Bring signs, flags, a loud voice and anything you feel moved to bring.

The Dominican government is planning on deporting hundreds of thousands of Dominicans who were born to Haitian parents or have Haitian ancestral roots. These actions scream racial cleaning, and we will not stand by it. In 2013, the Dominical gov’t renounced the citizenship of those who were born to Haitian grandparents dating back to 1929. Others actually born in the DR are rejected citizenship because they are said to be born “in transit” which does not grant them citizenship. However, that has been manipulated to keep Haitians and Dominican born Haitians away from Dominican citizenship. But you see, Dominican- Haitians are simply Haitian as descendants, after that they are spanish speaking and know only the DR as their home. To be deported to Haiti is unfair and wrong because majority do not speak Haitian Creole, and are not familiar with the land. To forcibly remove people on such racist grounds is unjust.

This leaves people stateless, meaning they have no real home and no country accountable for them.
