#OSU2MIZZOU: Racism Lives Here

PURPOSE: We, as students, faculty, and staff at OSU, stand in solidarity with Mizzou, Yale, Ithaca College, University of Cincinnati, and all campuses that are combating racism. We will be coming together on Friday to unearth the presence of racism on OSU’s campus. This will be a nonviolent event. This event is also open to those who aren’t affiliated with OSU!

We will be asking Black students, faculty, and staff to step forth at the rally and share their stories about the discrimination they’ve faced (or are facing) at OSU and other schools. Racism exists at Mizzou and across the nation. Racism lives here and we do, too.

If you are a Black student, staff member, or faculty member and you have a story you’d like to share at the rally, please contact Sarah Z. Mamo. If you have a story that you want to have heard but aren’t comfortable telling it yourself, please contact Justice Harley.

WHEN/WHERE: On Friday, we will meet on the lawn in front of the Hale Center (the lawn between Baker West and Bradley Hall) at 4pm and will be marching to the Oval. This march will be followed by the rally.

ATTIRE: We ask that all participants wear all BLACK clothing to Friday’s event.

OTHER NOTABLE THINGS:
– This will be a nonviolent event
– We will be meeting on Thursday, November 12th, from 5-7pm in the Ohio Union Resource Room to make signs for Friday’s event
– If you have any other questions or concerns, please express them on this event page
